Get ready for a new school year!

IN EARLY AUGUST: Families of new and returning students will receive information via email to complete 2024-2025 back-to-school forms and pay any instructional or technology fees for their students, including the optional Technology Protection Plan. Families will need to complete the forms and pay any available fees prior to the first day of the school year.

NOW THROUGH AUGUST 9: Families of students entering grades 6-12 can sign up for an iPad pickup appointment during the weeks of July 29 and August 5 to turn in their current school-issued iPad and receive a new 10th-generation iPad.

Back-to-School Forms

Back-to-school forms for the 2024-2025 school year for all returning students (preK and grades 1-12) will be available in early August in the PowerSchool Parent Portal.

Parents/guardians for all returning students (preK and grades 1-12) will need to access and complete the forms in the PowerSchool Parent Portal to verify and update important student information before the first day of the school year on August 14, 2024.

These forms involve:

Parent/guardian contact information
Emergency medical information and contacts
Medical history
Student permissions
All technology forms associated with students’ school-issued devices, including the Acceptable Use Policy and the optional Technology Protection Plan.

Those wishing to purchase the optional Technology Protection Plan must complete the technology forms in PowerSchool AND pay the $25 fee in SPS EZpay before the first day of school for the 2024-2025 school year (August 14, 2024). If the $25 fee is not paid by the first day of school, the plan is void.

How to Complete the Forms

Please follow the following steps to complete the forms when they are available in early August.

Log in to your PowerSchool parent account. If you need help with your log-in information, or you have not set up a PowerSchool parent account, please contact backtoschool@uaschools.org.
Once you are logged in to your PowerSchool parent account, select the “Forms” link in the left navigation column.
Individually select and verify or complete ALL of the required forms under the General Forms tab. Be sure to click the Submit button at the bottom of each form to save your work.
If you have multiple students associated with your PowerSchool parent account, please click on each student in the tabs at the top of the webpage and verify or complete ALL of the required forms for each of your students.

Student Fees

Families of new and returning students (K-12) can log in to SPS EZpay beginning in early August to pay any fees associated with their students. The fees available for payment will include:

Instructional fees for elementary students (K-5);
Middle school optional community building / social fees;
The optional Technology Protection Plan fee ($25) for students in grades K-12.

Families wishing to purchase the optional Technology Protection Plan must complete the technology forms in PowerSchool AND pay the $25 fee in SPS EZpay before the first day of school for the 2024-2025 school year (August 14, 2024). If the $25 fee is not paid by the first day of school, the plan is void.

Middle school and high school course fees will be available in September. Fall athletic fees and UAHS parking fees will be available after those assignments are completed by the schools. Please allow 48 hours from the time of course enrollment to see fees updated in EZPay.

How to Access SPS EZpay

New to SPS EZPay? View these instructions on how to sign up for SPS EZPay. Please note that any families of students who are new to the district for the upcoming school year will be able to sign up for SPS EZPay beginning on August 1.

To add a student to your existing EZPay account: Please click on My Account and then Add a Family Member and provide the student’s district-issued student ID number and last name. You can find your child’s six-digit student ID number by logging into the PowerSchool Parent Portal.

If paying these school fees will cause a hardship for your family, please contact your child’s principal or school counselor.

iPad Distribution

Prior to the start of the school year, each returning student in grades 1-12 will turn in their current school-issued iPad and receive a new 10th-generation iPad.

All elementary students will receive their new devices in their classrooms for the first day of school.
Secondary students (grades 6-12 in the fall) can schedule an appointment to pick up their device at Upper Arlington High School during the weeks of July 29 and August 5 so that they are ready to go for the first day of school. Students must be present for the appointment. While we understand summer can be a very busy time for families, we strongly encourage you to schedule an appointment before school starts to ensure that your secondary student is technology-ready for the first day of school. After the start of school, devices will be available for pickup in each building’s tech office, only as our technicians’ schedules allow during the first few weeks of the school year.

Please note that families wishing to purchase the optional Technology Protection Plan must complete the technology forms in PowerSchool AND pay the $25 fee in SPS EZpay before the first day of school for the 2024-2025 school year (August 14, 2024). If the $25 fee is not paid by the first day of school, the plan is void. The Technology Protection Plan fee will be available for payment beginning in early August.

Bus Route Information

The district offers transportation services to elementary and middle school students who live 1.25 miles or greater from their home school. Transportation is not provided for high school students. Transportation also may be provided to students with special education transportation needs.

Each year, families complete a request for transportation for their student(s) - either at the time of registration for a new student or in May or June through the Transportation Request Form in PowerSchool for a returning student entering grades 1-8. Families will receive an email in early to mid-August, prior to the start of the school year, with information to access their student's bus route assignment.

Middle School and High School Athletics Registration

Families of student-athletes entering grades 7-12 complete the registration process for high school and middle school athletics before July 1 to allow coaching staff to get an idea of interest before the first day of tryouts. If you have questions regarding this, please contact the Student Life Office at your child's school — Upper Arlington High School, Hastings Middle School or Jones Middle School.
