The Hastings and Jones rivalry will return to the court — for a great cause — when staff members and students tip off for Hoops for a Cure on Friday, April 27.
Proceeds from the 11th annual basketball fundraiser will go to cancer research at the Ohio State University’s James Cancer Hospital.
The game will be played at Upper Arlington High School, 1650 Ridgeview Road. Doors will open at 7 p.m., and tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased at the door for $8.
Hoops for a Cure was launched 11 years ago by Hastings teachers Beth Flory, Kelli Leinbuagh and Brian Niekamp. Flory passed away from breast cancer two years ago, and the event continues on in her memory and others from the Hastings family who have battled cancer.
Since it began in 2007, Hoops for a Cure has raised more than $85,000 to cancer research.
