Windermere's Intergenerational Arts and Learning Space Announcement
Posted 04/24/2018 03:26PM
Dear Windermere Families,
One of the most beloved traditions here at Windermere are the tiles that are outside on the pillars as you enter our school.   These were made many years ago by former students under the direction of Dr. Jeannie Auseon, our former art teacher, through a grant for an outdoor learning lab.  I have attached information you might enjoy reading to learn more!
As we begin to prepare for the upcoming construction, it has become clear that the tiles displayed outside are suffering from exposure to the elements.  In order to preserve these pieces of our cherished past, we will be removing them and placing them in storage in the coming months.  In fact, you may have noticed that some of the tiles, that appeared to be in danger of falling, have already been removed.
Please know that the tiles will be well cared for until we are ready to add them to the new Windermere when it opens in 2021!  Feel free to contact me with any questions, and please feel free to pass on this information to other members of the Windermere community!
Most sincerely,
Julie Nolan
